Getting started in Microsoft Teams
This page describes the Qualify Innovation app for Microsoft Teams from installation to result. You need an active organisation account to sign in — if you do not have one, request one first.
1. Add the app
In Microsoft Teams open Apps, search for Qualify Innovation and add it. The app installs in your personal scope with two tabs: Dashboard, where a profiling is started and followed up, and Project Profiling, which shows the result of the current one.
2. Sign in
Open the Dashboard tab and sign in with your Qualify Innovation email address and password. If the address you use in Teams is the same as the address of your Qualify Innovation account, you are signed in automatically through Microsoft Entra ID and no password is asked for. Signing in returns you to the tab you opened, not to a separate page.
3. Start a project evaluation
On the Dashboard press Start a New Project Evaluation. On the setup page:
- give the project a title;
- choose a criteria set — New Product Development full (14 criteria), New Product Development small (7 criteria) or Technology Platform Development (11 criteria). The criteria and the question behind each one are listed on the page as you choose;
- set the deadline. It has to be tomorrow or later, and it is the date until which the evaluators can score;
- enter the email addresses of up to five evaluators.
Press Invite Evaluators to send the invitations. The form locks afterwards, and the page tells you how many invitations actually went out — if one could not be sent, it names the address rather than reporting success. Then start the evaluation to move on to the status page.
4. What the evaluators do
Each evaluator receives an email from info@qualifyinnovation.com with the subject Profiling invitation, containing a personal link. They open the link in a browser, score the project criterion by criterion and submit. Evaluators need no account and no Teams client, and the link works until the deadline you set.
5. Follow the evaluation status
The status page shows how many of the invited evaluators have finished and how many questions each of them answers. You can come back to it at any time from the Dashboard with Follow up Existing Project Evaluation.
It also lists every evaluator with their personal link and a Copy invitation link button. That link is the same one the invitation email carries, so you can send it through any channel you like — chat, your own mail, a meeting invitation — and the evaluation does not depend on our email arriving.
6. Agree on the differences
When the evaluators are done, the deviation page takes the criteria one at a time and shows what each evaluator scored. Where they disagree, you can record the score the team agrees on and write down the reasoning as a comment.
7. Read the result
The result is a spider-web chart with the average score per criterion, and it stays available in the Project Profiling tab. Until a profiling has been run, that tab shows “No profiling yet” and a button into the flow — that is the normal first-run state, not an error.
8. Share it with the team
Add the app as a tab to a channel or a group chat: + in the channel, choose Qualify Innovation, pick the page you want pinned in the configuration dialog and press Save. The same app is also available in the Microsoft 365 app and in Outlook, with the same tabs.
If something does not work
- An evaluator did not receive the invitation. Open the Evaluation status page, press Copy invitation link next to their address and send them the link yourself — nothing else is needed, and it works whatever happened to the email. It is still worth asking them to check the spam folder and to allow info@qualifyinnovation.com, so the next invitation arrives on its own.
- The evaluator’s link says access denied. The deadline has passed, the profiling was deleted, or that address was removed from the evaluator list.
- You cannot start a new profiling. Each account runs one active profiling at a time. Use Follow up Existing Project Evaluation to continue it, or start a new one — which deletes the existing one first, and says so before it does.
- The app says “Desktop only”. The evaluation screens are built for desktop widths. Open the app on a computer; your session stays as it is.
